In August, I will cycle 1000 miles from the south tip of England (Lands End) to the north tip if Scotland (John O’Groats) to help raise fund for the British School of Osteopathy (BSO).

Finally the last day arrived; a day earlier than planned. So I was in high spirit and looking to do what I thought was a shorter distance compared to the preceeding 5 days.

Off I went, leaving Alness behind, I moved at a very good pace for the first 15miles, then the downward spiral started. (more…)

It must have been the highlight day of the whole trip. I saw many outstanding wonders and road through yet the most lonely of roads and peaks in altitude.

Going from the Quaint old Blair Atholl, I circumnavigated then Glenmore Forest trailing the National 7. It was frustrating atimes because of the poor surface of the route. So frustrating it was that at some point, after having done 14miles in nearly 2 hours, I left the cycle track altogether and went on the parallel running A9. (more…)

Cycling in Scotland feeling different. You are surrounded by hills and mountains, most very barren and looks almost inaccessible. The climbs are subtle in most places and thus cunning.

Yesterday was just that. The other downside is that aspect that you miles on end without finding a shop, well, or even humans. So improvising is the key. (more…)

With a new week, I felt even fresher and raring to go. So trying to find the night’s accommodation at least 90miles away, I ended up with one 105miles away. Should I or not? You know the answer… I must.
